(i'm afraid of americans)
04.25.2003 - 20:45

Okay, so I'm not one who usually likes to toot her political horn, especially not in my diary-ya here, but I really just can't take it anymore. So come on, kiddies, it's storytime:

Once upon a time there was a man who was voted into office even though he lost the popular vote, and then rose into power by using the tool of fear and propagating a frightening type of nationalism with his countrymen. You follow me? Does this sound familiar? He was well known for his pre-emptive strikes on foriegn countries, but is now mostly known for his hatred against people of Jewish descent. He believed that the Aryan nation was the strongest, and soon tried to conquer or punish any country that disagreed with him.

The end.

So yes, I believe that President George W. Bush is repeating the history of Adolf Hitler. His whole administration is bringing back McCarthyism, but instead of targeting fellow Americans, they are targeting the rest of the world. Punish France for taking a stand against war because they wanted more weapons checks?? Who the fuck do we think we are? I believe the last term used for people that used actions like ours were Nazis. I don't care what your stance on the war was, it doesn't matter because it happened regardless of what the American people had to say. It happened with a mask of "They have weapons of mass destruction, so we will put an end to them." tightly on. So where are those weapons of mass destruction? Nowhere? You can't find them? You may never find them? Interesting. Oh, but look how happy the Iraqi people are, now there is no longer Saddam in power. That was really why we were there, honest. That's the original reason we came. Really. I promise.

I feel that America has lost its sense of right and wrong. We may have won the war in Iraq, but we used the wrong reasons, and instead of admitting that we are wrong, we take it out on our Allies. I once just hated our leader but loved my country. Now I can't wait to leave either one of them.
